AI Standards

We’re filmmakers first. AI is a visual-effects tool, like CGI before it: sometimes it adds one shot, sometimes it builds the whole film. Either way, filmmakers direct it, and anything made or changed with AI is labelled.

Three ways to make your film

Live-actionShot for real

Our crew on location or on set. Professional camera kit, with lighting and grip matched to each production. Traditional filmmaking, start to finish.

Best for
Interviews, documentaries, events and brand stories with real people.
HybridLive-action plus AI visual effects

Real actors and locations, with AI for the shots a budget couldn’t reach: new worlds, crowds, creatures and transformations. Includes performance capture, where an actor performs and AI recasts the character.

Best for
Short films, commercials, music videos and micro-dramas.
Full AIGenerated entirely with AI

Written, directed, edited, scored and graded by filmmakers, with every frame generated. Studio-scale ideas at a fraction of a shoot’s cost and time.

Best for
Brand content, animation, social campaigns, spec spots and pitch visuals.

Our rules

Craft comes first
Every project starts with a story and a director. You approve the story, script or plan at each stage before we move on.
Consent before likeness
No one is filmed, recast with AI, or has their face or voice used in AI tools without their own signed, written release. The release says what it’s for, where it runs, for how long, and how to withdraw consent for future uses.
Children
We don’t film anyone under 18 yet. When we do, a parent or guardian will sign every release, and we never clone or convert a child’s voice.
Union and state rules
SAG-AFTRA members appear only on union or signatory productions, under the union’s AI terms. Performers in Illinois, Texas, California, New York and Tennessee get the extra notices and releases their state requires.
We tell you what’s AI
Every delivery with AI shots includes a VFX shot list with AI disclosure, marking each shot made or changed with AI. Helper tools like noise reduction or upscaling are listed in your delivery notes.
Always labelled
Every delivery with AI content ends with a disclosure card. You choose where else the label appears (on screen, in the caption or description, or the platform’s own AI label) and approve the wording before delivery. We never remove the content credentials or watermarks that mark AI content.
Your material never trains AI on confidential projects
Mark your project confidential and we only use tools that don’t learn from what you upload. We never use anyone’s likeness or voice to train AI beyond your project.
Confidential stays confidential
Confidential projects are worked on only with our own local tools or approved services that don’t learn from uploads, and never appear in our portfolio, showreel or case studies.

What we won’t make

We turn these down before we quote, whatever the budget.

  • Anyone’s likeness or voice without their own signed consent, including look-alikes and sound-alikes of real people.
  • People who have died, without their estate’s written consent.
  • Fake political content: making a candidate, official or any real person appear to say or do something they didn’t, even with a label. And AI voice robocalls.
  • Sexual or intimate content of any real person, and any sexualized content involving children, real or made with AI.
  • Fake testimonials or reviews.
  • Impersonating a business, government or official, unless it’s you or you have their written permission.
  • Public figures endorsing things they haven’t endorsed.
  • Anything made to pass as a real recording or real news, or with a label you plan to remove.
  • Voice cloning of anyone under 18.
  • Material you don’t have the rights to use.
  • Harassment, or content that targets or exposes private people.
  • Combat sports events (boxing, MMA, wrestling and similar).

Questions

Who owns AI-assisted work?

Your proposal sets it out: either a license to use the finished work, or a transfer of ownership. We transfer whatever copyright exists in the work. In the US, frames or voices made purely by AI may not be protected by copyright at all, so we tell you that up front instead of promising otherwise.

How does disclosure look?

Every delivery with AI content ends with a card like this: “This video contains AI-generated and AI-altered imagery and voices. Performers’ likenesses and voices were digitally recast with consent.” You can add an on-screen label, a caption line or the platform’s AI label, and you approve the wording and placement before delivery.

What happens to likeness and voice data after the project?

We use it only for the project in the person’s release and never sell it. We delete it at the earliest of: the end of the project and its license term, one year after that, or three years after the person’s last contact with us. For union work we delete it within 90 days of the end of the permitted use and confirm that in writing. Voice models are deleted from the AI service where they were made, and anyone can ask us to delete their data sooner for future uses.
