Asset licenses
Effective and last updated: October 20, 2026
Who owns what we make for you, and what you can do with it. Section 4 of your quote sets the exact usage, term and territory.
The default: a license
- We keep ownership of the work. When you’ve paid in full, you receive an exclusive license to use it for the usage, term and territory in your quote.
- The standard term is 12 months from first publication. You can renew it for each further term at 35% of the original fee.
- Any use outside that usage, term or territory needs a new license, quoted separately.
Usage
- Organic social posts are included.
- Paid advertising adds 30%, and broadcast or streaming (OTT) adds 50%, of the fee for our own work.
Options you can add
Each option adds a percentage of the fee for our own work (pass-through costs aren’t included).
- Buyout (+100%): when you’ve paid in full, the work is a work made for hire for you, and as a backup we assign to you whatever rights we hold in it, to the extent any exist. Performers’ digital-replica licenses stay limited to the uses in each performer’s release.
- Perpetual license (+50%): the license has no end date and no renewal fee. It isn’t available while any performer is digitally replicated.
- Raw footage and project files (+25%): otherwise they aren’t included and stay with us.
- Portfolio opt-out (+15%): see below.
Our portfolio
After your first public release, we may show the work, including before-and-after frames, in our portfolio, showreel and case studies, unless you buy the portfolio opt-out. Confidential projects are never shown publicly, at no charge.
What stays ours
Our tools, workflows, templates, presets, prompts and trained models stay ours, and aren’t part of the work we deliver. AI-generated elements are provided as is as to copyright; see AI terms.
Writing services
For scripts and copy, we assign to you whatever rights we hold in the work delivered, to the extent any exist, once you’ve paid in full. Until then, all rights stay with us, and the work can’t be produced, published, registered or optioned.
If a project is cancelled
Once the cancellation amount is paid, you receive the finished material with a license for the usage in your quote. See Refunds.
